Hello dear colleagues,
"Play Toker" is an ongoing competition open to music students and professionals of all ages and levels. A new challenge takes place every month.
My compositions and arrangements are currently available on notacini.com and muzikkitaplari.com.
• Levels: Works on Notacini.com are classified into 5 levels ranging from easy, easy-intermediate, intermediate, intermediate-advanced, and advanced, which are indicated in parentheses next to the titles. Note that this site is only in Turkish. You may need to have it Google-translated for your needs. My book, "Traditional Turkish Music Album for Piano" on Muzikkitaplari.com, contains works of mixed levels, however levels are not indicated in the book the way they are at notacini.com.
2. Application Steps Please follow these steps to participate:1. Download the sheet music suitable for your level from either site (composition or arrangement).
2. Notify me via Instagram DM that you have purchased the item (your words counts as proof).
3. Practice the piece and record a video of it.
4. Share your video on your own Instagram Reels with the hashtag #PlayToker and tag @HakanAliToker.
3. Calendar• Deadline: The last day for video submission is the last day of each month.
• Results: Winners will be announced on the 5th of every month on my Instagram account.
The competition offers 5 different prizes:
1. RECORDING
• I will invite the winning colleague to my studio in Istanbul.
• We will record the piece they played using professional equipment, and I will release this recording as a single.
• For 5 years, I will share the net income (after expenses) generated by this recording on digital platforms equally (50/50) with you (payable annually in December).
2. SALON
• I will host the winner as a guest in one of my "Salon Toker" events at my home in Istanbul and will perform a duet with them.
3. COLLAB
• I will repost the winning colleague's video on my own Instagram account and tag them as a "collaborator".
4. CONCERT
• I will invite the winning colleague to the stage as a guest artist at one of my concerts and have them play that piece live.
5. LESSON
• A 1-hour lesson. This can be at my home in Istanbul, online, or within a masterclass.
• I am the jury of the competition.
• I will personally evaluate the performances of my own music. With gratitude to all participants.
Recording Prize:
• Will be awarded to 1 person who can perform any of my intermediate or advanced level works at a professional level.
• This prize will come into effect in April.
Salon Prize:
• Will be awarded to 1 person who performs any of my works for a non-piano instrument (including vocals) at a professional level.
• This prize will come into effect in March.
Collab Prize:
• Will be awarded to the owner of a video with high audio and visual quality who successfully performs a work of mine at any level, both technically and musically.
• This prize will come into effect in February.
Concert Prize:
• Will be awarded to 1 person who plays that month's "challenge" piece the best.
Lesson Prize:
• Will be awarded to 3 people who successfully perform a work of mine at any level, both technically and musically.
• There will be no ranking (1st, 2nd, 3rd) among them.
Participation Rules
• The competition is open to everyone every month. Those who participate in one month can also participate in subsequent months.
• Prize winners may participate in subsequent competitions as many times as they wish.
About Free Participation
• You may also participate in this competition with a piece of mine that you can download for free from imslp.org.
